"And I'll begin phase two of Operation Deez."

I recently replayed this game for my last birthday and it felt like coming home. This was my favorite ps2 game i ever got as a kid.. I think one time I actually somehow managed to pull the ps2 down off of a shelf or something with this game in it and ended up scratching the fuck out of my first copy and then had to go beg my parents to go get me a new one, but I absolutely did get a new one.

I had just played THPS3+4 recently prior to hopping back on THUG and the engine difference did take a second to get used to, but after that I was smooth sailing, kind of like breaking in a new pair of shoes, instead of being new, they are actually dusty ass shoes from 2003. Speaking of THPS3+4, I'm surprised I bounced off of that game as hard as I did, but I guess I did complete career mode or whatever. I just was not in a huge hurry to re-complete career mode another 30 times, I suppose. People are speculating about a potential THUG remake which, after the career of thps4 was nuked in 3+4, anybody who's not licking Activision's boots is rightfully skeptical of. The nice thing about the fact that the thps4 remake was a pile of fuck is that the original thps4 is still there and still just as good as you remember. Well probably just as good as you remember. Nostalgia sure distorts shit sometimes.

AND I played thug on the fucking crt i got too for extra 2003 immersion

Anyway what the fuck was I talking about? Oh yeah dude, Tony hawk Underground. The game is perfect as is and needs no update or remasters. I think meeting a game where it's at, or was or whatever, is much more rewarding than sitting around waiting for Activision who is clearly not giving these games the proper budget and time they need to actually put out a worthy product. You can probably run tony hawk underground on your fucking phone if you have one of those real fancy shits that cost like 500 bucks, and if you're a poor motherfucker like me and can't run THUG, I *know* your ass can run thug2 remix on psp, and even tho the story in THUG2 is inferior, the gameplay is still solid as a mf.

Which is to say the narrative in this game is fucking PEAK. I myself love a rags to riches story, riches optional. The character arc of just becoming more skilled at something in general is one i greatly appreciate. It also contains skateboarding's greatest antagonist, Eric Sparrow. There has never been a more satisfying ending than playing through the entire game on sick difficulty and then punching him in his stupid fucking face.

We really could use more narrative skating games now. I mean shit we could use more skating games now period, although now that i finally have a pc capable of playing video games, a multitude of indie games have opened themselves to me, including the upcoming Skate Story. I can tell from the vibes of that game it will become my entire personality for a while. Skateboarding Demons has VoidDweller written all the fuck over it. I've also got to say the obligatory cheapskate shoutout, made by ex-neversoft employees, which i've yet to buy but looks incredibly promising. Plus we have the knew EA Skate Fortnite Skatenight Skateroyale BattlePass skateboard battle. I hate fortnite and live service games disgust me but unfortunately this is marketed *directly* to me.

To conclude, Tony Hawk's Underground fucking rocks and doesn't need a fucking remake, and also add me on skate so we can do the co-op challenges PLEASE holy shit I need people to skate with.
